    Lara Hamsher is the Senior Director of Stakeholder Relations and Social Impact for AES, where she leads a growing team of 20+ professionals driving AES’ social performance and impact strategy across an energy portfolio of 14.3 GW of operating assets in 29 states and a 50 GW development pipeline.

    A second‑generation energy professional, Lara began her career in design after earning a BA in Architecture & Urbanism from Smith College. She transitioned to the energy sector in 2014 and later earned a Master of Science in Communication from Northwestern University, which propelled her work in renewables beginning in 2019. She led Communications and Government Relations at sPower before joining AES in 2020, where she built and now leads the Stakeholder Relations, and Impact function.

    Beyond her role at AES, Lara is a committed advocate for women and the importance of public affairs in the energy sector. She is a founding member of Women of AES Clean Energy, serves on the board of Women’s Energy Network Utah, and is a board member of the Public Affairs Council. She also serves as Chair of American Clean Power’s Local Affairs Committee.
