LaTricia Woods is an award-winning, accredited public relations professional with more than 30 years of industry experience. After working in various industries, she opened Mahogany Xan Communications, LLC in 2012. The firm's clients include universities, nonprofit organizations, small businesses, professional service providers, corporations, and more.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication, a Master of Arts degree in organizational communication, and a marketing certification, all from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. LaTricia has received awards from the City/County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA), the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the City of Scottsdale, the Phoenix Business Journal, the Wichita Business Journal, and the Tellys, to name a few. She is an accredited public relations practitioner through PRSA and is governed by the PRSA Code of Ethics. She is also the founding principal of The Change Agencies, the first and only national network of independently owned PR firms focused on inclusive marketing for multicultural and LGBTQ communities.
LaTricia is a member of PRSA, a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. She currently serves as the Chair for PRSA’s Counselors Academy section, a section comprised of agency owners. She is the Vice Chair of the Chandler Cultural Foundation Board of Directors and is a member of the Caris Sports Foundation Board of Directors. LaTricia teaches small business advertising and marketing at South Mountain Community College. She is a regular presenter on a variety of topics, including diversity in public relations, multicultural communications, and best practices in communications strategies. LaTricia is a certified graduate of the One Million Black Women in Business cohort sponsored by Goldman Sachs.
