Sami Ghantous serves as the Senior Vice President of Renewables, Engineering & Construction for Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), a leading North American developer, owner, and asset manager of both highly efficient, low-emitting electric and renewable generation projects.
Ghantous has 25 years of experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), having held leadership roles at eSolar, SolarReserve, Autodesk, SunPower, Shell, and EVgo. He successfully led EVgo’s national rollout of DC fast charging stations, improved operational efficiency through advanced project management, and drove a 400% production increase. His extensive project delivery portfolio includes the 5MW Sierra Suntower CSP project with eSolar, which was awarded “Best Renewable Project” by Power Engineering in December 2009. Additional milestones included the 110MW/1.1GWh Crescent Dunes CSP project with SolarReserve and the 747MWp Solar Star I&II project with SunPower.
Ghantous joined CPV in 2025, leading the Engineering & Construction team for CPV Renewable Power. In his role, Ghantous supports the development team on the development pipeline and oversees the execution of projects throughout construction, maintaining safety and schedules. He brings a deep-rooted passion for technology and renewable energy development, consistently leveraging innovation to advance clean energy infrastructure and accelerate the energy transition.
Ghantous holds a High Technology MBA from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Massachusetts Amherst.
