Amanda Koonjbeharry is an accomplished public affairs and communications leader with over a decade of experience advancing equity-centered policy, stakeholder trust, and community engagement across the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors. She holds dual master’s degrees in social work and public policy and is known for leading with clarity, purpose, and care - even in times of uncertainty and change.
She currently serves as Public Affairs Manager at Leeward Renewable Energy, where she leads stakeholder engagement and public affairs for wind, solar, and battery storage projects nationwide. Her work spans renewable energy, housing security, anti-sex trafficking, economic development, and public safety, and is always guided by a commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and sustainable impact.
Previously, Amanda served as Director of Public Policy at the Citizens League and led major initiatives at Tunheim and Hennepin County, where she co-chaired Minnesota’s Anti-Sex Trafficking Super Bowl LII Committee and secured countywide investments in justice reform and therapeutic interventions.
She currently serves on the board of Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity and as Communications Chair for the Texas Women’s Foundation’s Nineteen Network. Amanda is also a recent alumna of Commit to Leaders’ Civic Voices Fellowship and was named a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree.
A connector at heart, Amanda creates spaces that center authenticity, resilience, and collective growth. Through initiatives like She Prospers, We Prosper and In Sisterhood, We Brunch, she uplifts women and community voices. She believes redefining success means giving ourselves permission to evolve and honoring the strength it takes to do so.
